A Homily by Bishop Peter While Recovering

June 23, 2018

We are open for public services and liturgies, and will continue to broadcast the Mass online via Facebook. Stay up to date by visiting our homepage, our Facebook page or joining our email list.

As we gather here today, remember what was spoken to our ancestors of old. We remember the same words He addressed to us and spoke to us. They were not merely for people long ago or people in recent times but these are the words of God. To people of all time and in all places these are the words spoken to the prophets by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. You’re not merely of this world that you belong to but to that world which is yet to come, a new world filled with righteousness and peace. To heaven we open our ears that we hear more clearly words that were sent by the One who has provided us a great salvation through his son Jesus Christ. Amen.

We come together today as a witness and testimony to each other. We know that God speaks to us. He has spoken to us for many generations and he speaks to us now not only through the testimony of Holy Scripture but also through the Holy Spirit. So, our prayer today is “Lord open our hearts that we may hear your voice. Open our ears that we may understand your instruction to us today. Speak to us, Lord, for we are your servants and we are listening to You.”

And that my brothers and sisters is the gospel of the Lord. +++
