IASJ – A Journey of Faith, A Stand for Justice: 77 Years after the Declaration of Human Rights
The Interfaith Action for Social Justice (IASF) invites you to an open seminar at Saint Matt’s on December 13, 2025, from 3:30–5:30 PM, followed by dinner. We will explore urgent social justice issues affecting the Philippines and recently arrived Filipino immigrants in the U.S.
John N., who recently returned from a peace mission with BAYAN (Bagong Alyansang Makabayan), will share his firsthand experiences with indigenous communities and ongoing human rights challenges. (His last name is withheld for security reasons.) His insights and our group discussion will help shape IASF’s future relief efforts in the Philippines.
The program will also include volunteers supporting a Filipino immigrant family who will share their journey, including recent challenges with ICE. Their story will guide IASF in developing concrete support plans for vulnerable Filipino families here in California.
Dinner will follow, prepared by local Filipino IASF members.
All are welcome—of any faith tradition or none—who have a heart for Asian social justice concerns.
