The Environmental Stewardship Ministry of St. Matthew’s invites our congregation to join the International Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 20. We will pick up trash from Brea Creek Channel, just a few blocks away from the church, as part of this international effort to clean our waterways and beaches of trash before the rainy season starts and floods all that pollution into the ocean.
We will meet in front of St. Matthew Church at 8:30 AM on September 20 and carpool to the site. Please wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, a hat, and if you wish, a pair of gloves. Bring water and a trash-picker if you’d like. Trash bags will be provided.
