Pastoral Letter from Bishop Peter – December 7, 2018

Greetings to all the brothers, sisters, and friends of Saint Matthew Ecumenical Catholic Church! It has been my privilege and pleasure to have served as your pastor from the beginning of the founding of our parish community in November of 1985. In the first few years I did this as a volunteer minister for the parish community, but the pastor of Saint Matthew Church became a paid position in the summer of 1996. I have served in this position to the present day. Early on I realized that the pastoral needs of Saint Matthew Church…

A New Identity

We’re pleased to announce that Saint Matthew Church has a new identity—in the form of a new logo and website. A Letter from the Parish Council

Good Morning Friends of Saint Matthew Church! It is another marvelous Sunday in Southern California and we enjoyed celebrating the mass with all of you. Everyone probably noticed the elegant new chairs! We know you will agree that they really brighten up our spiritual home. Bishop Peter continues to recover from his stroke and is getting better day by day. We understand that his recovery will be slow but with continued prayers we know that he will return to preside for us again. Many people have asked about financial donations to help with medical bills….

They were not merely for people long ago or people in recent times but these are the words of God. To people of all time and in all places these are the words spoken to the prophets by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. You’re not merely of this world that you belong to but to that world which is yet to come, a new world filled with…

A Letter of Inquiry Concerning the Ecumenical Catholic Communion

Bishop Hickman: My name is Claire, and I am a sophomore in high school. I recently stumbled upon your website and was immediately intrigued. I first sent this email to your associate pastor, but he never replied. I have never heard of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion, so, as you probably understand, I have a few questions. Please note that I do not intend for any of these questions to imply disrespect. I am on a sincere search for the truth, and your answers will provide a great deal of information for me. Thank you in…
