Letter from Bishop Peter, Written on November 6, 2019
The Feast of Saint Nicholas Tavalec and His Martyred Companions
Greetings in the name of the Lord, Jesus to all the sisters, brothers, and friends of Saint Matthew Church.
It is with deep gratitude that I extend my thanks to all those who were able to attend the community meeting last Sunday, 3 November 2019. Your presence at this meeting was a great sign of your love and support for our church.
As was mentioned then, this meeting was the first in a series of subsequent meetings that will soon follow. The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, December 1st, following the 10:30 mass. Lunch WILL be provided.
At this meeting I, along with my associate, Fr. Arturo Querijero, will be presenting the pastoral plan for the coming year of 2020.
Every attempt will be made at this meeting to give members of our congregation to contribute to this meeting with questions, comments and concerns.
At the first meeting last Sunday we did not have sufficient time to include this time of necessary feedback. So, the meeting on December 1st will dedicate more time for this process of dialogue to unfold. Remember, we have only begun a conversation that will continue over the next several months.
I thank you in advance for your willingness to participate in this process in order that we might continue the ministry of Saint Matthew Church into the next generation.
Should you have any further questions or comments, feel free to contact me or Fr. Arturo. We would be very happy to talk with you about anything that you need/want to discuss.
This comes with love and gratitude,
The Most Reverend Peter Elder Hickman
Bishop & Pastor of Saint Matthew Ecumenical Catholic Church
