Event Details

On February 13 and 20 after the 9:30 mass Mother Diane, Bishop Peter and members of the Constitution Committee will be leading a discussion of the content of our new and revised Parish Constitution and Bylaws. A committee of laity and clergy worked well over a year to develop this important document and guide for our parish. Topics to be covered include why the constitution needed revision, the model of the “three-legged stool” in shared decision making, the role of the laity in community life, the Parish Council, the creation of the Clergy Council, the role of the Bishop and the election of an Auxiliary Bishop.

Attention will also be given to Saint Matthew Church’s history as an autocephalous parish and our existence as our own diocese of prelature and our role as the Mother Church of the ECC. Questions regarding our relationship to the ECC and to the ECC Diocese of California will also be addressed.
